God regrets what He did?

In the past 5 minutes, I have found 3 places in the Bible where God has regretted something He did. I've been reading 1 Samuel the past couple of days, and I recently ran across 1 Samuel 15:11, 35 - 11"I regret that I have made Saul king, for he has turned back from following me and has not performed my commandments." 35 And Samuel did not see Saul again until the day of his death, but Samuel grieved over Saul. And the Lord regretted that He made Saul king over Israel. (ESV)

After reading this I started wondering more and more about why God regretted what He did. It made me wonder if God has regretted anything else after that? Has God regretted anything He has done in my life? In Genesis 6:6, God regretted making man (6 And the Lord was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart.)

This awakens a deep disturbance in my heart. If God knows all things and sees all things and hears all things, then why would He regret something He did? If God knew what Saul was going to do before He created the earth, why wouldn't He put someone else in charge?

Of course, after God regretted making man in Genesis 6:6, Noah found favor in His eyes (Genesis 6:8) and thus brings about the flood. I still wonder though, because God regretted what He had done in Saul's life, what does that mean for me? What does that mean for you? I need input please! My head is spinning!
